THE QUR’AN PROJECT, THE FIRST QUR’AN HAND WRITTEN IN THE UK
Latest News & Updates
Introduction
In the beginning there was the Pen. Thereby, it was commanded to inscribe ‘what is and what shall be’ into the primordial tablet. This was one of the first events in the recorded history of the multilayered universe of God which has been the subject of earthly re-enactment since time Immemorial.

The beginning is always important as it is often micro-cosmic and it is in this sense that when those beginning verses first flowed into the all-embracing heart of the Messenger of God (SAW) we took note that the Pen was once again present; the means by which the Lord, exalted be He taught, taught humanity that which they knew not. By this the pen is raised and by this so too are what the hands of humanity write, no more so than when what is written is ‘what is and what shall be.’

The UK’S First Hand Written Qur’an 2010-2012

The Glorious Qur’an is the word of God that has long adorned the voices of believing men and believing women, as after all in the beginning it was the Word. It beggars belief that a single moment can pass by without the Word being recited in the eastern lands of the earth as well as the west’s. But as it is recited it is also written and although the human voice is unparalleled in its receptivity to adornment the pen also has an uncanny gift of bringing beauty into the world of form, especially through the letters that make up the Arabic language; letters that accompanied the timeless reality of the Word in its descent from
beyond the High Throne of God. Herein, lies the sanctity of the art of calligraphy and it is for this reason that the timeless, Religion of God - the religion of beauty expressed - has openly expressed its perfect beauty through the written word taking the art form to unprecedented heights.

The soul has an innate love of beauty and the eye is one of the main windows of the soul as it seeks to replenish itself through apprehending beauty in the world of form. The one whose eyes linger upon the written word of God will be blessed to enjoy them for the rest of their lives; a prophetic tradition that resonates deep in the depths of the soul.

And so our souls rejoice as they once again convene in the assembly of beauty at the beginning of a truly momentous event, as once again the pen has been raised after having inscribed for the very first time on the island of the Angels, what it once inscribed on the island of temporal existence, ‘what is and what shall be.’

The Book of Allah is like an ocean. The less learned, like children, collect pebbles and shells
from its shores. The scholars and thinkers, like pearl divers, bring out from it the highest
philosophy, wisdom and rules of a perfect way of living.   Read More
