Fatima al-Fihri from Tunisia dedicated her life to building the Karaouine mosque in Fez, in Morocco; she also founded one of the oldest university's in the world. Muslim women around the world contributed too many historical events. 2010 marks another Historical event in the UK by CEO of Creative Colours and founder of the Quran Project, Shahida Ahmed. Shahida feels this project will produce the UK'S first ever handwritten Qur'an, one universal book, unchanged for 1400 years hand written for all the British Muslims.with leave a new creative Impact for Traditional Islamic Arts and Calligraphy in the
UK.
The Book of Allah is like an ocean. The less learned, like children, collect pebbles and shells from its shores. The scholars and thinkers, like pearl divers, bring out from it the highest philosophy, wisdom and rules of a perfect way of living.
The word Qur’an means “recited” or “that which is read “ Qur’an is a “miracle sent down from God, and not simply written by any one man.”
The Qur’an is the most holy book in Islam, and is believed to be God’s final revelation to humanity. It s said to have been revealed (or given) to the The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by God through a series of revelations via the angel Gabriel, in and around the cities of Makkah and Medina between 610 and 632CE.

The UK’S First Hand Written Qur’an 2010
The UK’S First hand written Qur’an is a project by Creative colours Arts . The project was launched in May 2010 and aims to produce a full Hand written Qur’an on handmade paper. This project will be a historical achievement once the fu ll Qur’an is completed.
The calligrapher selected to write the whole Qur’an is British calligrapher Sabah Arbilli born in Iraq. He achieved his Master degree in Traditional Arts in 2009. Sabah’s profile and winnings rate him as one of the most talented calligraphers in the world. Read More

Who we are and what we do
Creative Colours was founded in 2007, by internationally renowned Ceramic/Visual artist and educator; Shahida Ahmed. Shahida, who has managed various arts projects and is the founder of this project says, “As a British Muslim I felt that the form of art, can be used as a tool to create dialogue where we can see the similarities and embrace the differences. My main aim was to create a fresh platform for South Asian and Middle Eastern Arts; we are British and need to share our heritage and beliefs through a medium that everyone appreciates” Read More

Creative Colours hopes to film/photograph and publicise this project nationally and requires donations to do this A minimum of £2,500 per sponsor will be required by sponsorship and all logos' will be used on all marketing and media material
Donations in kind
Required for launch of the project and 6 monthly updates of the process and making. This includes hosting venue and helping promoting the project. Hosting website and publicity and promoting the project nationally. Donations in Kind will be acknowledged and mentioned on the website. These partners will also be acknowledged at the end of the project. The Creative Colours advisory panel will make all final decisions.
